Dessert & Baked Goods » Margarita Cupcakes
Tequila and fresh lime turn this cupcake into a fiesta. Alina Eisenhauser of Sweet in Worcester, MA, finishes the cupcakes by rimming them with sugar. And a sprinkling of salt is the icing on the cake.

I poked holes all over the top of the cake as it cooled and poured the syrup onto it so it soaked in. I also substituted the crisco with sour cream and cut the recipe in half (since there is no piping it into the cake itself) and its delicious.

I thought this was too large and the sweetness was very overwelming and this is coming form a person who LOVES sweets and desert! I switched it up and used a mini cupcake pan - they were so adorable - i brought them to a party and everyone loved them and couldn't believe how much they tasted like a margarita!! The pic here is when I originally made them in the muffin pan - I used blue sanding sugar to add a lil pizzaz!
