Chocolate Fondue

Creamy chocolate served with fruit or cake is a very inviting dessert.  Chris Parsons from CATCH Restaurant demonstrates his easy technique for making chocolate fondue. Win over the one you love by bringing this treat to the table. They'll love you right back.

About Chris Parsons

Chris Parsons began learning about the importance of just-from-the-water fish at the age of one, when he accompanied his father (in back harness) on his first fly-fishing expedition. He’s still angling for the freshest fish available and serving it in preparations that blend honest, straight-forward flavors with haute-cuisine style at CATCH Restaurant in Winchester, Massachusetts.

Recipe

Ingredients

Serves 2

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup good quality chocolate of your choice, chopped

Optional Ingredients

  • add very small amounts of espresso, peanut butter or favorite liqueur - be careful not to add to much, so that it will not interfere with equal parts heavy cream & chocolate

How-to

  1. Have chopped chocolate ready in a stainless steel bowl
  2. Bring 1 cup of heavy cream to a simmer, then pour over chocolate and let sit 3-5 minutes
  3. Stir gently while spinning the bowl until the mixture is a creamy texture
  4. Pour into ramekins fitted into a heat source (water or candle)
  5. Serve with cubed pound cake and fresh fruit
