<p>Nick Varano grew up in Boston's North End as a second generation Italian. His parents came to the United States from Calabria, Italy, and instilled a love for cooking and eating in their son. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Nick opened <a href="http://www.stregaristorante.com/">Strega Ristorante</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.nicoboston.com/">Nico Ristorante</a>, both North End Hanover Street institutions. He is also owner of <a href="http://www.nicksfamousdeli.com/">Nick Varano's Famous Deli</a> as well as <a href="http://www.thevaranogroup.com/">The Varano Group</a>, a company involved in restaurants, media &amp; consulting.</p>
