Homemade cheese sounds like a laborious task, but Renata Cypaite demonstrates that whipping up your own cheese doesn't take too much effort. This basic farmer cheese allows you to add the flavor you like. You can go sweet with raisins or stick with the traditional caraway seeds, but either way, you've added a new and versatile recipe to your repertoire.
Renata Cypaite was born and raised in Lithuania. Growing up in a little town surrounded by beautiful lakes and forests she learned to pick berries, mushrooms and grow her own vegetables. Growing up Renata spent many hours in her mother's kitchen making preservatives and cooking traditional Lithuanian meals for the family. After moving to the US in 2005 she has come to appreciate her heritage and Lithuanian culture even more. Today Renata loves living in Boston where she can explore different cultures and their cuisines, but cooking her mother's and grandmother's recipes from scratch— that's where her heart is.
