The classic Ward Eight gets a tropical twist with this version named for the noted New Orleans neighborhood, the Ninth Ward. Invented by Brother Cleve for Tales of the Cocktail 2008, grenadine is replaced with falernum (a tropical syrup) and St~Germain elderflower liqueur rounds out this bourbon-based cocktail. It's a taste of the Caribbean in every sip.
Musician, DJ, record producer, writer and connoisseur of cocktails, Brother Cleve has been studying classic cocktails since the early 1980s. While a member of the band Combustible Edison in the '90s, he combined his affection for lounge music and classic cocktails. A world traveler, Brother Cleve continues with his love of music and research of sensational cocktails.
