About Nuno Alves
About Nuno Alves
Nuno Alves was the youngest of 11 children and naturally grew up as his mother's helper in the kitchen. He started cooking by her side in his first childhood home in the Azores before the family moved to Cambridge, MA. Nuno has carried the skills acquired from those early years (like making fresh cheese from leftover milk!) with him through his rich culinary career in Boston. He's lent his creative hand and meticulous skills to many acclaimed Boston kitchens, including an eight-year stint at Rialto restaurant working for Chef Jody Adams. He later teamed up with restaurant owner Chris Douglass to bring Tavolo, a fresh Italian eatery to Dorcester, MA. Nuno loves Tavolo's neighborhood feel, and has crafted an approachable, creative menu that supports regional agriculture and economic systems.
