<p>Chef Jay Silva, of <a href="http://www.bambara-cambridge.com/index.php">Bambara</a> restaurant in Cambridge, caught the cooking bug early on. As a member of a large family, growing up in Malden, MA, and on Cape Cod, he helped his mother in the kitchen. Then, as many a chef story goes, he worked as a dishwasher starting at age 15, attended Newbury College for Culinary Arts, and never looked back.</p>
