Maple Oatmeal Cookies

About Josie Morse

Josie Morse majored in Baking & Pastry at Johnson & Wales University. She grew up on The Big Apple Farm in Wrentham, MA, owned and operated by her family. In season the farm has 24 varieties of apples, 28 types of vegetables and Pick Your Own blueberries, raspberries & apples. They also have homemade cucumber pickles in barrels, vegetable plants, decorative sunflowers, Christmas trees & greens. Bakery goodies include homemade donuts, hand-dipped candy, caramel apples and many flavors of pies.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1¾ cups flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp ginger
  • ½ cup maple syrup (dark)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅓ cup sour cream
  • 1¼ cup quick rolled oats

How-to

  1. Preheat oven to 375º
  2. Cream butter and sugar in a bowl
  3. Blend in the egg, maple syrup, and sour cream
  4. Sift and mix in the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt.  Stir in the oats
  5. Drop cookies onto a greased pan and bake at 375º for 10 minutes
  6. Sprinkle with cinnamon and powdered sugar
