My childhood memories of Easter bring me back to waking up to a festively transformed L'Eggs Egg (remember those?) filled with jelly beans and chocolate, wearing a cute little new spring dress to church and freezing because Spring had yet to arrive. Then heading home for morning Malasadas made with the same dough my Mom used to make her legendary Portuguese Sweet Bread, followed by a big sit-down lunch for all 9 of us. All in all, a good day, mostly revolving around food and family - as it should be. In this week's newsletter, we bring you some new and classic Easter how-tos that hopefully will become a part of your family traditions. Happy Easter everyone - and let's hope we see the sun on Sunday.
Cheers,
Lynne, Founder & CEO
The future of baking is in the classroom of Barbara Dietrich in Hubbardston, Massachusetts. Watch Mrs D. work with these talented, enthusiastic kids to create what may be the single-most adorable form of bread we have ever seen. Watch them "wake up the yeast," form the parts and create a flock of beautiful sheep. Thanks to Hubbarston Elementary for having us and for sharing their terrific recipe with us and all of you.
how2heroes recently held a throwdown amongst the staff and invited some of our professional and home cook heroes in to decide whose cookies crumbled and whose reigned supreme. After thoughtful consideration and lots of calories consumed, Lynne's cookies were chosen as the winner. Find out the secret to Lynne's cookies. It may surprise you.
