Sausage Fritters

Makes 15 fritters


  • ½ lb sausage (casing removed), crumbled
  • 1½ cups Bisquick
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar & Colby Jack suggested)
  • ½ cup buttermilk

Special Equipment

  • electric hand or stand mixer
  • baking sheet
  • nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper
  • ice cream scoop


  1. Preheat oven to 350º
  2. Crumble sausage in a medium bowl.  Add Bisquick, cheese and buttermilk
  3. Mix until combined. The dough will be sticky
  4. Coat baking sheet with nonstick spray or line with parchment paper
  5. Use an ice cream scoop to shape fritters (or roll them into golf ball size) and place on the baking sheet
  6. Bake fritters for 25 minutes.  Serve warm with home-made Apple Butter
