Cookie Decorating: Snow Divas


Dani's Royal Icing - Makes 5 Cups

  • ½ cup meringue powder
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 lbs confectioners sugar


  • favorite cookie recipe, cut into snow diva shapes, baked & cooled


  • royal icing with white food coloring to make icing even whiter!
  • gumdrop, sliced into thin triangles for nose
  • flower candy for hat
  • dragée candy for eyes and necklaces
  • sanding sugar

Special Equipment

  • hand mixer
  • squeeze bottles
  • small offset spatula
  • tweezers
  • toothpicks


Prepare Royal Icing

  1. Using a hand mixer, beat together meringue powder and water
  2. Slowly beat in sugar, until combined
  3. For even whiter icing, mix in white food coloring

Decorate Cookies

  1. Bake and completely cool your favorite snow diva-shaped cookies
  2. Once cookies have cooled, outline the cookie with royal icing, then fill in the area. Give cookie a shake to even out the icing
  3. Decorate as desired and finish with a generous dusting of sanding sugar, tilting the cookie to remove excess sugar
