Panko Chicken

Serves 4


  • 1 whole chicken, broken down into 8 pieces
  • garlic powder for sprinkling
  • paprika for sprinkling
  • honey for drizzling
  • ΒΌ cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • non-stick cooking spray (if not using a non-stick pan)


  1. Preheat oven to 350º
  2. If not using a non-stick baking or broiling pan, coat pan with non-stick cooking spray
  3. Rinse chicken pieces with cold water, pat dry and place skin-side-down on pan
  4. Sprinkle top side of chicken generously with garlic powder and paprika, then bake for 25 minutes
  5. Remove pan from oven.  If using baking dish, transfer chicken pieces to a plate and drain off accumulated juices from the baking dish.  Return chicken piece to the pan with skin side up
  6. Sprinkle remaining side with garlic powder and paprika
  7. Drizzle honey over the chicken and dust with Panko breadcrumbs
  8. Return to the oven and bake another 20 minutes or until thickest part of chicken reaches 165º when checked with a meat thermometer
