Apple Crisp

Ingredients

Filling

  • 5 cups apples all-purpose apples, peeled, cored &sliced
  • 2 tsp flour
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup water

Topping

  • ½ cup oats
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup butter, softened and cut into pads
  • ⅛ tsp baking powder
  • ⅛ tsp baking soda

Special Equipment

  • 8" x 8" baking pan

How-to

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. In a food processor  blend the topping ingredients minus the butter, then add butter and pulse until crumbles forms
  3. In a bowl, mix apples, flour, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and water
  4. Spread apple filling into greased 8x8” pan and cover with topping
  5. Bake for 40 minutes or until topping browns
