Makes 1 cocktail


  • lemon wedge to rim glass
  • granulated sugar to rim glass
  • 1½ oz brandy or Cognac
  • ¾ oz Cointreau orange-flavored liqueur
  • ¾ oz lemon juice
  • ice


  1. Rim the edge of a chilled cocktail glass with a lemon wedge
  2. Dip the rim of the glass in sugar, and shake off any excess inside the glass itself
  3. Add brandy, Cointreau and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker
  4. Fill with ice, cap shaker and shake vigorously
  5. Strain into the chilled glass and serve
