Bonnie Shershow of Bonnie's Jams shows how to turn a couple dozen Seckel pears into an elegant dessert or edible gift. The pears are peeled and poached in a sweetened white wine bath then jarred with the reduced liquid. They can be served with a warm chocolate sauce for dessert, or dressed up with a label and ribbons and given as a gift. Best of all, they will last, unopened, for about a year (but good luck waiting that long)!
Bonnie Shershow welcomed us into her lovely, warm home on a cold, rainy day to share her delicious jam recipe with us. A marketer by day, Bonnie finds the energy to make her wonderful jam on weekends for Formaggio Kitchen in Cambridge. Bonnie's positive energy is infectious and her down-to-earth personality makes you feel like you've known her for years after having just met her.
